The Regina Fire and Protective Services were called to a large fire in a recycling pile north of Regina at 2:15 a.m. Tuesday.
By 7 a.m. fire officials had indicated the fire was under control with firefighters remaining on scene to fully extinguish the fire. There were no injuries reported.
In Saskatoon thick black smoke billowed into the sky Monday morning due to a fire in a recycling pile at BN Steel and Metals. That was shortly before 10:30 a.m. and traffic restrictions were removed about three hours later.
The cause of the fire hasn’t been determined yet and there is no damage estimate at this time.
