Researchers at the University of Saskatchewan have developed a new website to bring provincial soil maps online and to your mobile device.
The Saskatchewan Soil and Information system is a digital platform that stores information on all data collected, including soil surveys.
Until now, this information was only available in PDF or hard copy formats.
Now a smartphone user can click on a specific land location and access all of those resources.
Based on feedback at workshops and early user trials, there will be widespread use among the agronomy and soil research communities. It will assist in interpreting soil test results and developing management plans.
The Saskatchewan Soil Information System is usable on all browser platforms except Internet Explorer.
