There are seven World Trade Centers in Canada and Saskatoon has one of them, even though the 9-storey office tower at 22nd Street and 3rd Avenue South hasn’t been built yet..
Spokesperson for Saskatoon’s WTC, Don Atchison, says work continues behind the scenes even without the building.
WTC Saskatoon has already signed Memorandums of Understanding with various other WTC groups across the country.
Most recently, an MOU was signed on agriculture during the WTC Association’s General Assembly, with over 40 WTCs involved.
The goal is to build a framework of collaboration on agricultural trade issues.
It was spearheaded by WTC Harbin in China, with which Saskatoon’s organization had already signed an MOU in January about growing agricultural trade.
Construction hasn’t yet begun on the Saskatoon office tower, but the goal was to have it done by 2019.
