There were 19 graduates from the FIRE Cadet program with high school students from both the Saskatoon public and Catholic school divisions. Students apply to be in the 8-week program and are selected after an interview process. They learn to operate fire hoses, hydrants, fire trucks and the aerial ladder system. Cadets work on tope and ladder skills, extrication, what to do in a dangerous goods situation, firefighter self-rescue and water rescue skills. The students also received their CPR Level C training.
