The Saturday following the September long weekend is always the day for the Broadway Street Fair, and for the 35th year, it’s back tomorrow (Sat). Executive Director of the Broadway Business Improvement District, DeeAnn Mercier, describes it as their version of Boxing Day shopping with the best deals of the year. This year, there is a community stage on 10th Street with entertainment tonight and tomorrow night and community performers throughout the day tomorrow, along with a Citizenship Ceremony over the noon hour. Proceeds from the celebrity dunk tank go towards the United Way of Saskatoon and Area.
Mercier says Saskatoon’s Police Chief Troy Cooper and Fire Department Chief Morgan Hackl will be taking part, as will City Councillor Cynthia Block. Other highlights are a British Car Show and a Cycle Show with custom, vintage and unique bicycles on display. Kids Kingdom includes a petting zoo, bouncy castles and pony rides.
