The Elizabeth Retirement Community project for low income seniors in Humboldt has been completed.
The project was made possible by a joint investment of more than a million dollars between the provincial and federal governments.
Ralph Goodale, Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness says the federal government is committed to caring for Canada’s aging citizens.
Located on 12th Avenue in Humboldt, the Elizabeth consists of 40 units, 28 of them being affordable, accessible, independent-living apartments.
Humboldt’s mayor, Rob Muench says the opening of the Elizabeth is another positive addition to the community, making Humboldt an even better place to live.
