Many will be checking in with the World Junior Championship in Vancouver and Victoria over the next few days.
There is a Saskatchewan connection to the event’s anthem. “Born and Raised” from Shaunavon’s “The Hunter Brothers” has been named as the official song of the tournament.
JJ Hunter says the song is one many can relate to because most people have a sense of pride of where they were born and raised, and in this context, it’s a sense of pride of being Canadian.
Having played junior hockey, the band says having this honour is one that is extremely special. Two of the five brothers played in the Western Hockey League and three played professionally. (CKRM Regina)
