Saturday marks the one year anniversary of the crash between a semi tractor trailer unit and the Humboldt Broncos team bus and it is expected that anniversary will draw people to the site of the crash.
There is a highway memorial at the intersection of Highway 35 and 335. The Government of Saskatchewan is reminding travelers to keep safety and awareness top-of-mind when stopping or passing through the area.
The Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure has laid geo-textile fabric to try and help prevent the site from becoming muddy and has installed reduce speed signage and message boards. Those signs will say “foot traffic and parked vehicles in the area, slow down to 60 km/h.” There will also be a heavier presence of Saskatchewan Highway Patrol and RCMP on the weekend.
