The Regina Police Service has issued a public advisory about a man on statutory release who is considered to be a high risk to reoffend sexually. Jason Paul Thorne will be living in Regina’s Heritage neighbourhood in a residential facility that offers supervision and monitoring of his activities.
Police say the 42 year old’s criminal history includes sexual offences, and reoffending. He poses a high risk for acts of sexual offences against young girls. The RPS says the prospect of reducing his risk through treatment interventions are poor. Police are making this information public so preventative measures can be taken, not to embark on any form of vigilantism.
