It is a long way from small town Saskatchewan to the World Livestock Auctioneer Championship (WLAC) in Tulare, California.
Brennin Jack is only 29 years old, but has plenty of experience. When he was a youngster in Invermay, Brennin would travel to Kelvington to sell cattle at the local auction mart. After high school, he gained full-time work with Heartland Livestock in Yorkton. Following stints in Regina and Prince Albert, Jack now owns his own company.
“I’ve learned so much over the years working at the stockyards and how to conduct good business. Jack Auction Group sells everything from horses, bison and all the way up to farm, antique and estate sales.”
This is the sixth time that Jack has qualified for the WLAC championship. The competition includes an interview and a live cattle sale. Judging is based on rhythm, chant, clarity and presentation. The winner will be announced on Saturday night.
There will be a live online stream of the proceedings. The auctioneer competition will begin at 9am Saskatchewan time on Saturday morning.
