Around the clock openings on weekends at Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority casinos starts tonight (Fri).
SIGA Senior Vice President of Operations Lionel Tootoosis says it’s a natural evolution of their business and is done in other provinces.
Tootoosis also feels there is customer demand as the move accommodates shift workers.
He says staff including security are on site 24 hours a day and able to handle staying open a few hours beyond the normal weekend closing time of 4 a.m.
The final shuttles are still scheduled for 1:15 a.m. on weekends but Tootoosis says they will look at running more if it makes economic sense.
The move is expected to increase revenue by between 1-and-2 million dollars.
