Veterinary authorities are urging people to make sure their pets’ rabies vaccinations are up to date after a rabid skunk attacked a dog in the city this week.
Saskatchewan Agriculture’s Rabies Risk Assessment veterinarian Dr. Clarence Bishop says follow ups will be conducted.
“I’ll be visiting the owner to confirm the dog’s rabies vaccination status and depending on what I find there, it may, or may not be, subject to a quarantine.”
He says this is also a good reminder for people to make sure their pets are fully vaccinated.
