The Saskatoon Police Service is welcoming its new recruits. After 20 weeks of training at the Saskatchewan Police College in Regina, a new group of hires will be assigned to their Platoons on Saturday. The graduates are former teachers, security guards, paramedics, corrections workers, commerce graduates and people have work worked in advertising or the oil industry.
While at the Police College, the recruits learn about criminal law, defensive tactics, firearms, powers of arrest, mental health, restorative justice and cultural diversity. They also participated in demanding physical fitness training.
