In the wake of Monday, April 6 being the second anniversary of the tragic Humboldt Broncos’ bus crash, the city of Prince Albert has declared Tuesday, April 7 as “Green Shirt Day.”
The proclamation honours Logan Boulet, one of 16 people on the team bus who lost their lives because of the collision between the bus and a semi-trailer unit at the intersection of Highways 35 and 335. The 21-year-old Humboldt defenceman saved six lives on April 7, 2018 when his parents Toby and Bernadine honoured his wish to be an organ donor. Green Shirt Day honours the legacy of Logan’s story…one that has inspired more than 100,000 Canadians to register as organ donors, known as the Logan Boulet effect. In Prince Albert, city councilors are being urged to wear green to their April 6 virtual meeting while city of P-A staff are invited to wear green to work on April 7.
