It was a month long investigation by Regina Police that involved an accident, firearms and a kidnapping. Regina Police say August 28 they were called to a two vehicle accident where one of the drivers fled the scene who police allege ran a red light and their investigation indicated the suspect was a 29 year old man in breach of a court ordered driving prohibition as well as three firearms prohibitions. He was also found to be the subject of a Canada-wide warrant for breach of statutory release. The Regina Police Service issued a warrant for his arrest.
Eight days later police responded to a firearms call in downtown Regina where a male in a vehicle pulled up beside another vehicle being driven by a 28 year old woman who forced her into his vehicle, threatened a witness with a gun and drove away. The woman was located and police believed the suspect was the same person involved in the August accident.
On September 21st, police were called out to the same area, the 21-hundred block of Smith Street, for an assist citizen call for service regarding the safety of a woman who was with a man who was armed with a gun. Before police could conduct a welfare check a man exited into the parking lot and identified the suspect as the 29 year old man they’d been trying to track down since the August 28th collision.
Due to the volume of vehicles and pedestrians, police stopped pursuit but this past Tuesday a police operation involving multiple RCMP detachments led to the arrest, on the Kahkewistahaw First Nation, of Tyler Jonas Lavallee of Regina. He was in court Wednesday facing more than a dozen charges.
Twenty-nine year-old Tyler Jonas LAVALLEE, of Regina, is charged with:
