The Saskatoon Fire Department has a fire truck this month that is not its usual be it the traditional red and white or newer, yellow.
For the sixth year, the Fire Department has partnered with the Firefighters Union and Cowan Imaging Group to bring a pink fire truck to Saskatoon to commemorate Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Engine 13 will be wrapped in pink this month, and will continue to be an integral part of the fleet.
When it’s not in commission, the pink truck will be showcased at various locations in the city.
Saskatoon residents are encouraged to make donations to the Cancer Foundation of Saskatchewan.
Union IAFF80 representative Jay Protz says, “The truck not only symbolizes the fight against fires, but also the fight against breast cancer. We’re proud to raise funds for this important cause, especially knowing the money is helping patients right here at home in Saskatchewan.”
