The 2021 SABEX Awards held at TCU Place, in person last night, included three new award categories as the Saskatoon Chamber of Commerce celebrated local businesses. One of which was Mistahi Mamîcîhîtowin Award which recognizes a business or non-profit organization that is working to foster good relations with Indigenous people in our community, and promote economic reconciliation, through community investment, business partnerships and/or procurement.
A full list of winners is in our online story another of those new awards which was for this year only and it was the COVID Grit Award that went to Curbie Cars.
The Raj Manek Mentorship Program was also inducted into Saskatoon’s Business Hall of Fame which provides coaching, mentorship, and tools to small and medium-sized business entrepreneurs. Since its inception, the program has welcomed over 300 entrepreneurs into the program, nearly 80% of whom are still in business.
