A $70-million Lotto MAX ticket bought in Alberta was actually won by a Saskatchewan resident. On April 1st, the lottery ticket, not sold in the Calgary or Edmonton area, was flagged as having matched all seven winning numbers.
The next day, a winner stepped forward and Sask Lotteries confirms the winner of this record-setting jackpot lives in this province. We will find out who the winner is on Tuesday. There is a media presentation scheduled in Regina at 11 o’clock.
This win breaks the previous record for the largest jackpot won in the Western Canada lottery and in Saskatchewan. The previous record in this province was a $60-million prize won in August 2016 by a Neville resident.
