The National Indigenous Business Awards recognized two Regina First Nations business owners.
The Saskatchewan Indian Equity Foundation congratulates two of its clients for being recognized as top Indigenous businesses in Canada at the Indigenous Prosperity Forum Gala in Gatineau, Quebec earlier this month.
Both Jacob Sinclair and Jennifer Dubois are members of the George Gordon First Nation, located about 115 kilometres north of Regina.
Sinclair owns and operates Anytime Fitness and was awarded the COVID-19 Business Resiliency Award. The one-time award was created to recognize an Indigenous business that has demonstrated a high level of resilience and adaptability during the pandemic.
Meanwhile, Dubois is the founder of Miyosiwin Salon Spa. She won the Indigenous Woman Entrpreneur Award of Excellence. The award recognizes an Indigenous woman entrepreneur who is substantially involved in the day-to-day management and operations of an Indigenous-owned company that has been in business for at least two years.
Both Sinclair and Dubois each received a commemorative trophy, a paid trip to the award presentation and $5,000 dollars.
