RCMP now believe there may be at least 23 connected incidents from July 6th to the 16th in central and southern Saskatchewan, along with Hanna, Alberta and Kelowna, British Columbia.
Saskatchewan RCMP officers were investigating a series of incidents between July 8th and 10th, including thefts of vehicles and the ramming of a police vehicle. It began with Wynyard RCMP responding to a fuel theft at a business, and that’s where the police vehicle was rammed. The truck fled and was later located in Yorkton, but police were unable to stop it. The pickup truck was later found abandoned near Dunleath, and then later a vehicle was reported stolen outside of Yorkton, which was later found abandoned in Eston.
Crime analysts with the Saskatchewan RCMP Crime Prevention and Crime Reduction Unit reviewed the files and connected at least 23 incidents. Police have identified two persons of interest. If you recognize them, contact your local police. You can also report a tip anonymously to Crime Stoppers 1-800-222-8477.

“Because the RCMP is the provincial police force in Western Canadian provinces – and given the interprovincial nature of some crime – the work of our crime analysts is critical to help identify crime trends and advance investigations,” says Monica Deters, acting officer in charge of the Saskatchewan RCMP’s Crime Prevention and Crime Reduction Unit. “We now know that this string of July incidents is connected and we’ve been able to identify two individuals police officers would like to speak to. Take a look at these photos – if you recognize them, please report it to police or Crime Stoppers.”
