The Saskatoon Fire Department rescued a female hanging from the Taylor Street overpass at Circle Drive yesterday (fri) around 1 in the afternoon.
A ladder truck was used in the rescue. One firefighter entered the area and was secured to the chain link fence to reduce the risk of the woman falling.
Police stopped traffic in the area to create a safe working space for SFD crews. Firefighters maintained contact with the woman and while the female attempted to move away from the ladder truck, the firefighter secured to the fence pinned himself and the female to the chain link so the ladder could position under them and bring the her into the bucket.
A few minutes later, the woman was brought safely to the ground and was handed over to police.
Firefighters had to cut the fence to gain access which will require repairs.
No injuries were reported.
