You can learn about compressed air storage technology as an option for low-carbon power generation, either in person or online. The second free session of the Environmental Society of Saskatchewan’s Speakers Series is tonight (Tues) at 7 in the Meeting Room in the basement of Frances Morrison Central Library, and it will also be livestreamed on the Saskatoon Public Library’s Facebook page.
Professional Geologist Brian Brunskill is the guest speaker. He considers air storage a cost-effective technology where electricity generated from renewable such as wind and solar are stored underground and then the compressed air is released later to generate electricity. That way renewable energy can be available on demand.
