The Saskatoon Regional Economic Development Authority says Saskatoon’s economy is leading the nation.
SREDA says according to the Conference Board of Canada, Saskatoon’s economy is forecast to grow by 7.2 per cent in 2022 and 3.9 per cent in 2023. This will be, in large part, driven by growth in potash and uranium mining, along with higher output in the energy sector
SREDA says the report also confirms what it’s been hearing from many local businesses for some time – the Saskatoon labour market is “red hot.”
President and CEO Alex Fallon says Saskatoon has a special set of strengths which means the city’s economy is growing even at a time when the Canadian and international economies are slowing down and the organization doesn’t see that changing anytime soon.
