In February 2022, Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes charged two men with kidnapping and first-degree murder in relation to a 2011 missing persons investigation. And today announced that they have found human remains in connection to the case.
When Edward “Ted” Geddes was last seen in April 2011 it was in the Baldwinton area and he was 64-years-old.
Robert (Bob) Welsey Pich, age 58 years, and 70-year-old John Robert Gregoire both from the Baldwinton area are facing charges of first-degree murder and kidnapping with a firearm. Gregoire is also charged with indecently interfering with human remains.
Saskatchewan RCMP have been conducting a nearly month-long search on private land in a rural area approximately three kilometres southwest of Baldwinton.
Superintendent Josh Graham, Officer in Charge of Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes says, “While positive DNA results are needed to confirm the identity of the deceased person, investigation to date has determined the person located is believed to be Edward “Ted” Geddes.”
The RCMP does not anticipate laying any further charges. Superintendent Graham says the RCMP hopes that with this development, his family, after years of wondering where Ted Geddes is, will have some closure.
Robert Wesley Pich is in court today in North Battleford and John Robert Gregoire’s next court appearance is November 8th also in North Battleford court.
Baldwinton is approximately 72 kilometres west of North Battleford.
