Egor Sidorov (pictured) has 12 goals in 10 games this season after he notched his second hat-trick of the campaign in pacing the Saskatoon Blades past the Winnipeg ICE 5-2 Saturday.
Sidorov put the Bridge City Bunch ahead for good, with a between-the-legs shot just seven seconds after Jayden Wiens had tied the score at 1-1. The 18-year-old winger from Belarus insured that the Blue and Gold would get a bounce-back win following Friday’s 6-3 loss to Winnipeg when he scored the game’s final two goals. Vaughn Watterodt tallied what proved to be the winning goal and Trevor Wong chipped in three assists as the Blades improved their overall record to 16-5-0 and won four times on a five-game homestand that concluded Saturday. Ethan Chadwick made 21 saves for Saskatoon in goal as the ICE dropped to 22-3-0 for the season and had an eight-game road winning streak come to an end. Winnipeg was the atop the C-H-L’s Top 10 rankings this week while the Bridge City Bunch were seventh. A new national ranking will be released Tuesday. The Blue and Gold will leave that day for three games in Alberta this coming week, beginning Wednesday in Edmonton. Following is the official game summary, courtesy the W-H-L, plus the audio highlights from CJWW’s broadcast and the Post-Game Show interviews with head coach Brennan Sonne, Sidorov and Wong…..
