The story behind the NORAD Santa Tracker started in 1955 when a tiny voice called the wrong number and asked if this was really Santa Claus. As the legend goes, the child was trying to make a phone call after seeing a local Sears Department Store ad with an incorrect phone number. She called the Continental Air Defense Command which is the precursor to the North American Aerospace Defense Command in Colorado Springs. Today, NORAD continues the tradition monitoring everything that flies in our skies and on December 24th that also means tracking Santa and his reindeer.
