The Saskatoon Fire Department responded to a call from a residence in the 100 block of Avenue E South around one o’clock.

Flames were coming from the main floor of a raised bungalow. Crews started extinguishing the fire on the outside of the house. When firefighters were able to enter the structure, they located the source of the fire in a bedroom on the main floor. It took about 20 minutes to bring the fire under control.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

There were seven people inside the house and they were able to evacuate safely. Some smoke alarms in the home were missing but the ones in place were in operating order.
