Telemiracle 47 will raise millions of dollars to help people across our entire province.
One example is Blair Kidd. Blair has fibromyalgia–which makes it difficult for her to stand and walk. Telemiracle and the Kinsmen Foundation arranged for the installation of a lift chair, a wheelchair and a stair lift. This is the audio from a portion of an interview aired on the TV broadcast Sunday morning.
Kidd says having a more accessible house makes her life much easier.
Volunteers are responsible for making Telemiracle one of the most successful per capita fundraising telethons in the world. The hosts, including Saskatchewan musician Jess Moskaluke, were very enthusiastic first thing on Sunday morning.
A tribute to Bob McGrath was aired at the beginning of Telemiracle on Saturday evening. The Sesame Street personality travelled from the United States to attend the vast majority of Telemiracles. McGrath passed away in September.
