A Saskatchewan Party news release says Kindersley MLA Ken Francis and Yorkton MLA Greg Ottenbreit will not have their names on the ballot in 2024.
“Greg and Ken have both been an important part of our government and our Saskatchewan Party team and they will be missed,” said Premier Scott Moe.
Francis was first elected as the MLA for Kindersley in a 2018 by-election and was re-elected two years later. He is currently the Legislative Secretary to the Minister of Trade and Export Development.
Ottenbreit has been an MLA since 2007. He has served in the provincial cabinet as the Minister of Highways and the Minister of Rural and Remote Health.
The Sask Party also released dates for 10 nomination meetings of current MLA’s seeking re-election. An 11th nomination meeting is slated for July 5th in the Saskatchewan Rivers constituency. Current MLA Nadine Wilson was elected as a Sask Party candidate but was removed from caucus for misrepresenting her COVID vaccination status. Wilson is now the leader of the Saskatchewan United Party.
