Metal detectors are coming to SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon.

Cheri Hamilton, the communications director at SaskTel Centre says they have done the hand wanding metal detectors are many of their events.

She says what is happening Thursday for the Nickelback concert are the same systems you see at the airport. These are the metal detectors you walk through.

She says the all the NHL venues have to have them and a lot of tours are requiring them plus it is a lot easier and faster to walk through compared to using the hand wands when you have bigger crowds in the 13-thousand-person range.

Hamilton says with 25 around the arena there shouldn’t be any delays.
