The Give Hope Wings flight expedition across Canada to raise money for Hope Air wraps up on Friday.
Hope Air is a Canadian charity that provides travel support to people in financial need who must travel to reach medical care. The support comes in the forms of flights, accommodations, meal vouchers, and ground transportation. On June 5th, over 30 Canadian pilots hit the skies with a goal of raising $600,000 for the charity, as well as awareness on the issue. Along their journey, stops were made at large city centre airports and Hope Air patient communities where people could rally together to support the cause.
To date, Hope Air has raised over $1.8 million, providing over 5,000 travel arrangements for those who need them.
