A Saskatoon businessman, who describes the operation as a family business, says he is devastated after heavy equipment was stolen from his property.
Kevin Boychuck is offering a $20,000 reward for information for hopefully the complete, whole recovery for each piece of equipment. The co-owner of K3 Excavating said the company’s first piece of equipment to go missing on June 23 was a CAT loader, including the bucket and a set of forks. A tractor unit was later taken from the same lot on July 3.
He says the equipment is in good condition with relatively low kilometres and replacing it is a significant undertaking. He points out people wanting to buy newer vehicles are waiting up to six months and it is no different for heavy equipment which is in high demand right now.
Boychuck says the missing equipment is valued at somewhere between $200,000. to $250,000 and to replace this with new equipment is well over $500,000.
