Saskatoon families in need are now able to benefit from 55 new affordable housing units at Rusholme Road and Avenue M North.
The houses were originally built in 1961, but through a $13.04 million investment from the provincial and federal governments, they underwent renovations such as reconfiguration to accommodate larger families, energy efficiency improvements, and two units saw the addition of accessibility features.
The units were officially opened up today, and the tenants were welcomed into their new homes.
Minister responsible for the Saskatchewan Housing Corporation Gene Makowski says the government will continue to support safe and affordable housing, as it contributes to the health and wellbeing of people in across the province.
Project funding was provided through the National Housing Strategy – Canada Community Housing Initiative.
