The busiest days for the John G. Diefenbaker Airport vary each year, depending on what day Christmas lands. Vice President of Business Development and Service Quality at the Saskatoon Airport. CJ Duchinski, says over the last month, they have seen about 1,700 passengers a day, but this Friday and Saturday, it’s expected there will be well over 2,000 per day, and then next week, the busiest days will be Wednesday and Thursday.
Duchinski’s advice for keeping travel as stress-free as possible is to give yourself plenty of time to arrive at the airport. Come early, so you won’t be as stressed if you have to wait in line. Check ahead with your airline, to make sure there haven’t been any delays.
If you expect to drive to the airport, Duchinski reminds travellers that the parking lot is always very full when it’s busy, so you can pre-book a spot on their website, or if you arrive and the parking lot is full, you will be directed to the overflow, which is the remote shuttle lot. It runs 24/7.
When it comes to going through security, Duchinski reminds everyone not to wrap their gifts, because they will just have to unwrap them.
