Prairie Spirit School Division has announced that all buses will be cancelled this morning due to extreme cold (-46 with temperature and windchill combined) The school division asks students and parents to check their web page for cancellation information regarding the afternoon run. Due to the extremely cold weather again, First Student and Hertz Northern Bus school buses are automatically cancelled for Saskatoon Public Schools for the entire day when Environment Canada reports at 7 a.m. the temperature with wind chill is minus 45 degrees Celsius or colder. All Saskatoon Public Schools remain open.
Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools bus service on Monday, January 15th, has been cancelled for elementary school students (pre-kindergarten – Grade 8) in Saskatoon, Warman and Martensville; high school students from Martensville and Warman who get bused to Bishop James Mahoney High School; and intensive-needs high school buses in Saskatoon.
School division policy is to cancel bus service in Saskatoon when the temperature, including wind chill, reaches -45 C. Cancellations are for the whole day (morning and afternoon service). Service providers First Student and Hertz are informing parents of route cancellations. All schools in the division are open regular school hours.
