A man who was a tireless promoter and defender of the beef industry and beef producers will be inducted into the Saskatchewan Agricultural Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2024.
Among many things, Les Johnston is best known as a supporter of 4H in Saskatchewan and a well-respected beef competition judge. Johnston says he’d been doing it for so long that he was judging the children of 4H alumni.
Johnston says his goal was to help the next generation of producers. Johnston is one of six individuals who will be formally inducted at a ceremony April 13th in Saskatoon. In addition to judging, Johnston support 4H in Saskatchewan in various roles, and contributed to the development of the Verified Beef Program.
