Victoria Park will be bustling with music lovers again this year during the 2024 SaskTel Saskatchewan Jazz Festival.
Executive Director of the Jazz Festival, Shannon Josdal, says this year’s lineup is an exciting one.
“We’ve got Shaky Graves on July 10th, Johnny Reid on July 11th, Arturo Sandoval, he’s one of the greatest trumpet players in the world. He is a protege of Dizzy Gillespie, and that’s July 12th,” Josdal explains.
In addition to that, Jewel and Melissa Etheridge will be co-headlining on Saturday, July 13th. Josdal says it was a no-brainer to say yes immediately when she found out the two would have to come as a pair.
“I was working on the lineup, and I was putting out offers to Melissa Etheridge, and her agent called me back and said ‘Well, she’s going out with Jewel. Would you have any interest in that?”
She adds that 75 percent of their programming is free, with six free shows happening in Brighton at the Wetlands Amphitheatre, pop-up programming taking place throughout the Riversdale and Broadway Neighborhoods, and a concert series happening at the Bassment.
Tickets are available at SaskJazz.com, or by calling the Broadway Theatre box office. Tickets go on sale on Monday at 9:00am.
