The lone Saskatchewan United Party MLA says she is stepping down as party leader. Nadine Wilson made the announcement in the rotunda of the Legislature right after the spring session closed on Thursday. She introduced the United Party’s new leader Jon Hromek, who ran in the Lumsden-Morse by-election last year, coming in second to Sask Party MLA Blaine Morse. He plans to run again in that constituency and Wilson will run in Saskatchewan Rivers.
Wilson says, “Jon Hromek, a passionate advocate for financial accountability and energy security, brings a fresh perspective to the party’s leadership. In his first address as Leader, Hromek outlined his vision for the future of Sask United.” The United Party’s website says Hromek has worked in Saskatchewan’s energy sector since graduating from the University of Regina in 2003 with a degree in Petroleum Engineering.
