Environment Canada has issued a weather advisory for an area of central and eastern Saskatchewan which spans north to Blaine Lake and south to Montmarte and everything in between including Prince Albert, Saskatoon, Regina, Outlook, Watrous, Yorkton, Melville, Humboldt and Wynyard. and Kamsack and Canora. It’s for the possibility of funnel clouds, which are generated by weak rotation under rapidly growing clouds or weak thunderstorms. Weak rotations aren’t usually a danger near the ground, but there is a chance it could intensify and become a weak landspout tornado.
On top of the weather advisory for the Kamsack and Canora area, there is also a severe thunderstorm warning.
