Head coach Joe Carnahan is positive about having local products play for the new Saskatoon Berries of the Western Canadian Baseball League.
The team started training camp last night at Cairns Field with six Saskatoon products listed among the 29 players on the roster. The first player to sign with the Berries was Saskatoon native and outfielder Nolan Sparks. The other hometown Saskatoon products listed on the roster are pitcher Ryan Olchoway, outfielder Payton McHarg, pitcher/infielder Cory Wouters, pitcher Maris Brons and pitcher Colin Plain.
