Saskatchewan students who want to pursue post-secondary education in Russia will no longer be able to receive Student Aid from the province.
A news release from the provincial government de-designating Russian post-secondary institutions aligns with the federal government’s decision to do so, and further demonstrates Saskatchewan’s support for Ukraine.
The idea is to make sure provincial funding doesn’t flow to institutions that are subject to federal or international sanctions against Russia. Right now, no Saskatchewan students are receiving Student Aid while attending school in Russia.
