The search for a missing woman at the Saskatoon landfill is being extended, as police have not completed their scan of the area of interest.
The search for Mackenzie Trottier, which began 31 days ago, was only supposed to last until June 3rd.
Police and purpose-trained cadaver dogs have been searching a 930 cubic metre area of the landfill, and investigators are interested in continuing. This will be for an undetermined length of time.
As a result of this extension, the no-fly zone that was put in place in the airspace above the landfill has also been extended for the duration of the search.
Trottier was last seen leaving her home in the 300 block of Trent Crescent on December 21, 2020. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Saskatoon Police Service or Crime Stoppers.
