The Regina Police Service is searching for a suspect in a weapons assault investigation following an incident that occurred on Friday.
At 11:15 p.m., police were dispatched to the 4100 block of 5th Avenue for the report of a weapons offence. The callers told officers that a man had been assaulted and had suffered severe injury, and that the offender had fled the scene.
Police located the injured man, whose injuries resembled those from a large, bladed weapon and applied a tourniquet to his arm. EMS then arrived and transported the man to hospital, where he remains where he remains with serious, non-life threatening injuries.
The suspect is described as male, Indigenous, 25-35 years old, with a medium build, and short black hair. He was wearing a black jacket, blue jeans, black shoes, and a black hat.
