When you support the STARS Lottery, you are supporting the service the non-profit organization brings to Saskatchewan, with its helicopters able to touch down in areas far from hospitals with medical personnel on board.
Spokesperson, Mark Oddan says time is often an integral factor in an emergency when someone has been critically injured or suffered a life-threatening health issue.
STARS helps to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
Oddan hopes those who can, will support this year’s lottery which includes over $3.6 million in prizes.
There are two grand prize show homes again, with one each in Saskatoon and Regina and there are 1,500 prizes in total.
Tickets are $60, but there are two other ways to win on top of that.
One is a 50/50 draw where the winner will go home with half of up to $5 million in cash and new this year is STARS daily cash.
It’s 40 draws of $10,000 each.
Oddan says if it wasn’t for their fundraisers, STARS wouldn’t be able to help as many people as they do.
The Government of Saskatchewan takes care of about half of STARS’ operating revenue each year, but they still need to raise about $11 million each year.
The link for tickets and more information on the prizes available is here.
Oddan states that STARS is not just for people in rural areas, but for everyone out working, playing, and traveling across the province.
