After a 2-day strike by 680 aircraft mechanics, which ended Monday morning, just after midnight, WestJet is warning customers that it is ramping up its operations as quickly and efficiently as possible, but getting up to full speed will take time. A news release says further cancellations will be required over the coming days, because they parked 130 of its 180 aircraft during the labour disruption.
At its peak on Sunday, there were 432 cancellations. Today, 27 are expected across the country, so check your flight status before heading to the airport.
