Sheree Fertuck, Greg Fertuck
Almost 9 years after 51-year-old Sheree Fertuck was killed, her husband will be sentenced tomorrow (Thurs) in Saskatoon Court of King’s Bench. Greg Fertuck was found guilty of first degree murder last month after a long trial with many delays. One of the delays was a voir dire about evidence from a Mr. Big sting should be allowed. As part of the police investigation, an undercover officer posed as a criminal, resulting in Fertuck confessing to him, but Fertuck contends he didn’t really do it. He was just trying to impress the criminal.
A first-degree murder conviction carries a mandatory life sentence with no chance of parole for 25 years. As part of the sentencing tomorrow, family members of Sheree Fertuck will be able to give victim impact statements.
