The Saskatoon Police Service says a single vehicle accident sent a 23-year-old woman to hospital and the vehicle caught fire.
Police were called at 6:15 am. Sunday to the east outskirts of Saskatoon at Highway #5 and Highway #41 where a vehicle was in the ditch and police believe it landed there after rolling several times before starting on fire.
The Saskatoon Fire Department put the fire out and extracted the driver from the vehicle. The woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries and a dog, the only passenger in the vehicle, was discovered deceased at the accident scene.
Police are continuing to investigate the accident.
