The Saskatoon Fire Department was called out early this morning to the 1000 block of Idylwyld Drive North.
The call came in at 5:06 a.m. of a multi-unit residential building on fire.
Smoke could be seen as fire crews arrived. One fire crew worked on extinguishing the fire while another searched the building to ensure no one remained inside.
Large fans were set up to remove any lingering smoke or toxins. No one was injured in the fire.
Meanwhile, Sunday morning, arriving fire crews could see smoke coming from the house in the 100 block of Avenue V South.
The call of a house on fire came in at 8:40 a.m. but the house was boarded up with windows and doors nailed shut using plywood.
A chainsaw was used to remove the plywood and the fire was extinguished. The fire investigator is determining cause, origin and damage estimate in both blazes.
