Free menstrual products will once again be delivered to schools, transition houses and shelters around the province thanks to a partnership between the Government of Saskatchewan and Shoppers Drug Mart.
Last year, more than five million products were sent out. This year’s shipment will be sent in September. This fall, the initiative will be expanded to several post-secondary colleges and adult vocational schools.
Shoppers Drug Mart Vice President Operations Stephanie Hurley says, “A lack of access to menstrual products is holding too many girls back – for every day of missed school, that’s one less opportunity to learn and grow.”
Shoppers Drug Mart is providing a total of 12 million products over three years.
