HUSKIES FOOTBALL:
Friday night at Griffiths Stadium may have been a cooler evening with a little rain at times, but that didn’t stop the Huskies from putting on quite the performance in their annual homecoming game. And it didn’t stop 8,733 fans from attending to cheer on the Dogs. Calgary would strike first early in the game as both teams traded the lead multiple times on the evening.
Huskies Quarterback Anton Amundrud completed 25 of 33 pass attempts for 286-yards on the night with one interception. All five majors scored by Saskatchewan were rushing, three of them coming from running back Ryker Frank, who also had a career high 223-yards. Javin Poynton had the other two rushing touchdowns, including the game-winner in double-overtime.
Saskatchewan earned a much needed victory 44-40, their first of the season bringing their record to 1-and-2, sitting in a four-way tie for third place. Saskatchewan hits the road again this weekend on Friday as they battle the UBC Thunderbirds.

HUSKIES WOMEN’S SOCCER:
Saturday afternoon was a historic day for the Huskies as they put up nine goals against Winnipeg, tying a program record for most goals in one game. This marked the first time under head coach Jerson Barandica-Hamilton’s leadership. The Huskies limited Winnipeg to only three shots, all of them saved by Nadia Kalyar. Compared to Winnipeg, Saskatchewan had 34 shots in the game, 20 of them on goal. Both Marie Kilcher and Alyssa D’Agnone recorded hat-tricks in the 9-0 victory starting off the weekend strong.
